What I Offer

‘The curious paradox is when I can accept myself just as I am, then I can change’

Carl Rogers: On becoming a person: A therapist’s view of psychotherapy

It's a privilege to share a space with someone, listening carefully as they express their struggles. For me, the therapy room is a sanctuary where you can truly be yourself, without fear of judgment and somewhere you can be met with true understanding and acceptance.

Through the experience of working with others, I have come to understand that much of the pain and distress in life is rooted in a disconnection from a sense of ourselves. When we lose touch with our deepest needs and what really matters to us we can feel adrift, doubting our abilities and struggling to trust those around us. It becomes harder to find meaning and direction in life and relationships suffer.

I see therapy as a collaborative process and my aim is to work closely with you, exploring painful life events and limiting patterns which may be preventing you reaching your full potential to lead a more meaningful and authentic life.

What I Offer

  • I offer a safe, confidential space where I can help you explore anything that is getting in the way of you living the life you deserve with warmth, empathy, acceptance and respect. The therapeutic journey can be long or short term depending on your needs.

  • I offer counselling services working in partnership with private companies and statutory organisations, providing confidential therapeutic support for employees. I have provided such services through East Sussex Healthcare NHS trust as well as within the education sector.

  • I work with trainees studying Person Centred/Humanistic modalities. Concessionary rates are available.

Testimonials

“I feel my sessions helped me gain my strength and believe that the bad things that happened to me in my past weren’t down to me!! Lesley helped me through a tough period of my life. I was down and low and never thought I would gain my confidence again. After coming to see her I grew and grew and I now feel I am myself again."

"I have lived with an eating disorder for 30+ years. In the past I have tried working with various therapists but even though I came to understand why I behaved the way I did, I was not able to overcome the ED. Just over a year ago I started working with Lesley and I have found her more holistic, person centred approach to be much more successful. For the first time someone was trying to get to know the person behind the ED. The person that had been forgotten and ignored for years. I began a journey of self discovery which has brought me to a place where I feel I can challenge the beliefs of my ED and move on from them."

"She provided me with lifelong tools to keep myself afloat and to rebuild, without fear of voicing what I need... firstly to myself but also to others. Not to feel responsible for all around me...I've become stronger than I have ever been and for that I'm eternally grateful. Lesley's approach was exactly what I needed."
